       Nassia Yakovaki, Assistant Professor, University of Athens

Nassia Yakovaki (a.k.a.  Nasia Giakovaki), is a graduate of Athens and Ioannina Universities. She pursued postgraduate studies at Essex University (Sociology of Literature) and Thessaloniki University (Modern History). She holds a PhD from the History Department of Thessaloniki University (2001). She has previously worked in secondary education, in the General State Archives and in KEMNE, Research Center of the Academy of Athens. She has also taught courses on Modern European History at the University of Thessaly and Modern and Contemporary History at the University of the Peloponnese. Her research interests lie in social and political history as well as in the history of ideas. Her current research focuses on the Age of Revolution in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. She is the author of a research monograph in Greek (republished in Chinese) and has published studies and articles in collective volumes and academic journals in Greek, English and French. She has been teaching on the Postgraduate Programme for the past eight years.
