Professor Miguel Centeno, Chair Sociology Department of Princeton University will give a lecture, followed by discussion, at 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday 20 March 2018 at the 2nd floor Aiolou 42-44, under the auspices of the Princeton Athens Center and the “Master’s Degree in South East European Studies” of the University of Athens.

The topic of his lecture, which is related to his recent co-authored book “War and Society”, is the following: “How Wars Build”The destruction caused by wars is obvious and well known.  Less discussed is the manner in which wars and conflicts may help build macro structures and even benefit some participants. This guest lecture is open to all Faculty members of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the University of Athens and all students of Master’s Degree Programmes and PhD candidates.
